The secret to unlocking PETG’s legendary strength is all in the cooling fan! To get the absolute strongest parts, keep your part-cooling fan below 50% (or turn it off completely after the first few layers). PETG needs to cool down slowly so the molten layers can chemically fuse together. If you blast the fan at 100% like you would for PLA, your final model might look pretty, but the layers won’t bond properly and the part will be much weaker!

Pro-Tip: Buying in bulk is the smartest way to 3D print, but it means you need to practice good filament storage! Keep the rolls you aren’t using inside their original, unopened vacuum-sealed bags. Once you open a spool, make sure to store them in a sealed tote or drybox with silica gel packets so they don’t absorb ambient humidity over time!
